This month I am sharing ideas using Craft Attitude printable film. Today I am sharing a DIY project using a glass flower vase showing off patriotic lyrics. You can see what creative fun I’m up to and follow along with the full tutorial on 100Directions.com. Plus I’ve included a great patriotic word art printable you’ll want to download to use in your own project.
It’s that time of year again! Spring has sprung, my daughter is turning 6, Mother’s day was grand and Surtex is NEXT WEEK! I’m heading to NYC to show off my art, connect with manufacturers and mingle with other artists. I’ll be in booth 350 under the title Designs of Design along with Laura Kelly. Also attending the show are Carla Schauer and Niki Meiners. We’re excited to head to the Big Apple, portfolios in hand!
Jen Goode and SURTEX 2013 PRESS RELEASE:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COLORADO ARTIST INSPIRES CREATIVITY
IN INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE
Jen Goode Brings Her Whimsical Art and DIY Ideas to SURTEX 2013
CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO (May 13, 2013) for the second consecutive year, Colorado artist, Jen Goode, is taking her art on the road to continue her mission to “Inspire Creativity” in front of an international audience. She is exhibiting at SURTEX in New York City from May 19-21, 2013 and will be showcasing her whimsical illustrations and creative design at this year’s premier art licensing event. Goode has been making a name for herself as a creative McGuyver, sharing her DIY crafting ideas and techniques as she incorporates her own doodly illustrations. Along with her popular Penguinality Penguin series, Goode will be displaying a variety of new art collections available to preview by companies looking for unique, playful art to license.
Visit booth #350 for more information and an art showing.
“I literally work in the middle of my kitchen where I can see and interact with my family all day long. My daily life is my inspiration and my art is a reflection of the funny little moments I encounter every day” Goode says. “Translating these moments into colorful art pieces others can see is what I love most about what I do. I’m motivated by the idea that if I share my quirky little view of the world, I might inspire creativity in someone else.”

Today is World Card Making day and I have a small handful of hand made cards I’ve created to participate in the fun. I’ll come back later on and show you how you can make your own cards super easy. For now, I wanted to share my favorite of the bunch, this wedding themed card. It features a wedding dress digital art printable you can use in your own personal card making too!
Inspired by this month’s Designer Crafts Connection picnic theme, I created a picnic themed invitation. You can download and print this digital art to use for your own picnic party! One version has the invitation text while a second version is blank so you can write in whatever you’d like. It’s time to get outside and socialize over watermelon and fried chicken (or PB&J). Download the Picnic Party Invitation and Card digital image by Jen Goode.
You can use the blank card as a Thank You card, a general note card, a note paper to write your picnic shopping list or even as a fun way to highlight a photo taken as your last family picnic. Whatever you decide, have fun with it! Let’s hope the ants are only on the print and not near your real food.
For more fun picnic ideas check out my creative ideas site 100Directions.com. You can also click the Designer Crafts Connection graphic on my sidebar to see what other designers are making this month!

I’m heading to NY next week to meet new people and show them what art I’ve got. SURTEX 2012 is the premier License and Design event held May 20-22 at the Javits Center in New York City. I was originally planning on walking the show and seeing who I could meet, but as of this past week, I’ve decided to exhibit as part of the Details of Design artists group.
If you’re heading to SURTEX, you can find me in booth 334.
Contact me to set an appointment, I’d love to chat with you!
I’ve been busy the last month working on some websites and drawing a ton. Create some exciting new ideas and brainstorming concepts. First, I’m excited to announce that I have officially signed a deal with a new client to license some of my art for their products. I don’t know the exact date you’ll be able to purchase, but I can tell you, there will be penguins – YAY! More info later…
I’ve also been creating art YOU can use in your own projects. You’ll find a selection of Jen Goode original illustrations as “digi stamps” through my site, Lil’ Goodies.com. If you’re unfamiliar, a digi (or digital) stamp is an uncolored image you purchase online and download to your own computer. You can print it and color by hand or you can color it in your favorite graphic design program. I’m working to add new art regularly.
Here are some samples of the digital art I’ve created used in projects I’ve recently made:
This sweet baby carriage card will be featured with instruction this month on the Clearsnap Blog.
This Frog wall art will be featured with instructions this month on the Buttons Galore and More blog. This is 1 of two frog sets available for purchase.
I’ve got more exciting projects coming up, including some fun with Rit Dye, more buttons and some home decor make-overs! I’m really excited about the new art ideas and I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with using my illustrations… stop by and tell me about it!
Finally, if you are looking for some kid fun for this upcoming Easter weekend, stop by ProjectsforPreschoolers.com and grab yourself the free printable coloring page featuring this cute Easter Bunny!
What creativity have you been up to these days?
For more creative fun, check out the Designer Crafts Connection to the right and check out what other wonderfully creative people have been up to. Some of this month’s designers have giveaways, so make sure to hop through the list too!
