Tuesday's Topic: Parties to Celebrate

Tis’ nearly the seasons of festivities and party fun. While I sit here writing, I am thinking of all the activities that happen between Thanksgiving and New Years. It’s overwhelming at times. Whether you’re a planner or an attendee, parties are always a lot of fun and a lot of work. Most of all it’s a lot of time to catch up with friends and family – yay!

As I’ve grown older, am a mother of my own children, I find myself in a new stage of festiveness. Birthday parties, holiday parties, parties for the sake of celebrating something special… it brings a whole new meaning to “Party Girl”.

So whatever your reason, just remember – tis’ the season to celebrate! Put on your best t-shirt and spread the cheer.

Rumor has it…

I heard that today is International End Gossip Day. No idea if it’s really true but it sounded neat, so I thought I’d share.;)

Any other juicy tid bits of supposed information Ill have to wait until another day to share and I don’t want to be the one to break the chain of ending gossip… today.

While I’m thinking about it, rather than gossip, today should be – proud to be a blogger – day. Then we don’t have to worry about ending gossip, but rather blogging a good juicy blog.

Penguins send mail too

My (almost) 5 year old son has been asking for weeks if I would make a mailman penguin. He loves Mr. Mailman, a character on one of the pre-k programs he watches. So, I finally sat down and completed the request. Just remember, your mail carrier might just like penguins too. – wink.

Happy Candy Corn Day

Did ya know… today is national candy corn day. Yay! As if Halloween isn’t enough candy for a year, today is the pre-candy candy day I suppose. Around here, we love candy corn.

Trick or Treat Smiley Candy Corns – greeting card

And just incase you’re a trivia nut, this is what wikipedia says about candy corn:

Candy corn is a confection popular in the United States of America, particularly around Halloween. Each piece is approximately the size of a whole kernel of corn, as if it fell off a ripe or dried ear of corn. The candy is usually tri-colored with a yellow base, orange center, and white tip, although the color combinations may vary. Candy corn is made primarily from sugar, corn syrup and honey. Carnauba wax is usually added. Although it is most popular at Halloween, it is available year-round. The National Confectioners Association estimate 20 million pounds of candy corn are sold each year.
