Growing up, May Day was a fun little sneaky kind of day. My friends and I would make little goodie bags filled with candy and tied with pretty bows. Sometimes we’d even pick flowers to include in the gift. We’d then go around the neighborhood knockin on doors and then running to hide while the recipients found a sweet treat at their doorstep.
I never knew (nor cared) why we participated in such a sweet lil’ game… it was just something fun to do.
According to an array of resources online, May Day has a variety of purposes, origins and traditions. From political to seasonal to religious, May 1st seems to be important to a huge number of peoples around the globe.
I personally like my version best…
Surprise someone with a treat just because you can; besides, it not only makes someone else smile, you’ll probably giggle a bit too.
