Some spiders are really cool

A few months ago, while we were cleaning up the year, getting read for the autumn weather to come rolling in… we spotted this spider hanging out in the honkeysuckle.

he was HUGE, but rather than my usual “squish it quick!” reaction, I just stepped back and grabbed the camera. I figured he’ll leave when the snow falls. And, he’s much too big to fit under the door.. so I know he’s not coming in un-invited.

Pretty cool looking, I wish the photo were a little clearer.
What kind of spider do you suppose it is?

JGoode happiness for your ears

I love this photo, not because I made the earrings in the photo, but the colors and the collage of images looks like happy candy.

Tiny little circles of happiness you can wear with you anywhere you go. I wasn’t sure how this small sized JGoode art would do. However in the local stores, these cute earrings are turning out to be quite a hit –  I’m very excited! You can buy a small selection of these same earrings through my etsy shop. Each pair is hand made by yours truly.

When you need a smile, find some googly eyeballs

Craft projects are my favorite. I love the idea of making something out of nothing. The something usually turns out to be something fabulous! Crafting with someone else is a great way to inspire some happiness in the day.

My Son and I made these little creatures this past summer… (he said his looks like his brother).

Who needs snowpants?

Yesterday my daughter wanted to play outside and didn’t want to wait for anyone to help her get ready. Snow or not, she was headed outside to water her flowers…

At least she managed to pick the proper footwear.. right?

The bedtime penguin… Feeling sleepy?

Then the bedtime penguin is who you might best relate to right now. You might want to consider grabbing a blankie or your favorite snuggle toy and heading off to bed! That’s where I’m off to in a moment, but first let me share a couple of thoughts…

I’ve had a great day of networking and meeting some fantastic new people. I’m always intrigued by the amount of knowledge the universe has to share, and how if we just take a moment to connect with one other person, our own personal knowledge base grows that much more.

What one thing did you learn today?
I learned that if you work on getting your right brain and left brain to talk together more rather than separately, not only will you be more productive and clearer in thought. You’ll also be able to over come personal obstacles from the foundation of the problem, you’re own belief in the issue.

Virtual creations

Every now and then I find myself wishing I would travel outside of my bubble of a world, but until I become a millionaire with disposable travel funds and my own jet plane, I’m a little stuck. So sometimes I like to escape to a virtual world to create new things and explore 3D ideas I can’t build in my real world. This is a “photo” of a portion of the virtual sanctuary I’ve created in Second Life. I don’t have time to escape to my pretend world very often, but if you’re also a player, feel free to stop by and visit Serena’s Serendipity (we don’t have cookies, but there are penguins there ~wink).

Hoo loves owls?

A couple of years or so ago I could feel the rumblings of a new trend in the cute critter universe. Owls were out on the prowl and everyone seemed to want one. So I drew one. The end.

(really, the penguins threatened to eat my chocolate if I created too much competition, so I stopped here)

If you are so inclined, this round birdie can be purchased on a variety of owl t-shirts, gifts and goodies
