Here in Colorado, I’ve always heard of the Cinco de Mayo celebrations, but I’ve never personally gotten involved. It’s not a part of my heritage, but it’s definitely a part of my environment. I thought everyone had a celebration on May 5th, only to find out as I got older that it’s not a common activity everywhere in the country. To me, May 5th wouldn’t be the same without the parties!
For me, I think every day in life should be such a fun filled celebration. Although it doesn’t always turn out that way, the goal is to try to have an attitude like a celebration is right around the corner. I think I reach this goal.. oh, I don’t know.. maybe one out of ever 6 days or so. But, I do make a point to celebrate that myself and my family and friends are healthy and happy and here to enjoy another day together.
